Johnston Lure Company joins Southern Fishing News as newest sponsor

Southern Fishing News editor and publisher, Ron McDonald, has announced Johnston Lure Company has joined the digital bass fishing news medium distributor as the newest sponsor to be added to the sponsorship team.

McDonald said. “I am pleased we are adding Johnston Lure Company to our team of sponsors. The jig manufacturer happens to be based in the same area as we are, in the heart of a bass fishing Mecca.”

Johnston Lure Company produces handmade jigs. “Handmade” includes the custom-tailoring of the jig’s skirts color(s) that are then tied by hand (on finessee jigs). Johnston Lure Company products have been credited with wins in many tournaments including the recent Alabama Bass Trail event on Guntersville Lake, the ABA tournament on Wheeler Lake, as well as a Fishers of Men tournament on Wilson Lake.

The company features several different jig styles including flippin’, swimming, shaky heads, Ned Heads, swing jigs, bladed jigs (Chatterbaits) and swimbait bladed jig heads. There are over 21 skirt colors offered on the company’s web site, http://www.johnstonlures1.com/.

Scotty Johnston, owner, said, “We have been making jigs since 2006. A wide variety of jigs and skirt colors are available. We also produce many jigs that are custom-ordered for a specific head weight and skirt color combination. At Johnston Lure Company we treat every customer like they were part of our family. Our service comes with a personal touch at no extra charge.”

Johnston continued, “All of our products are handmade – from pouring the jig heads, to painting and, on some models, hand tying the jig skirts. We only use quality black nickel hooks. The skirt collars used are non-traditional O-rings that will not heat up and fall apart. Our company can mold to accommodate several different hooks to fit the customer’s requirements, including about any custom color.”

Johnston Lure Company products are available in specific tackle shops and, as noted, from the company’s web store. Orders may also be made by calling (256) 702-0760. The company’s Facebook page features some of the most recent product announcements, photos of skirt colors as well as pictures of custom orders (https://www.facebook.com/Johnstonslures/).

McDonald said, “The addition of Johnston Lure Company’s sponsorship adds to our list of supporting companies that offer quality fishing products.”
