All the competitors were fishing to have fun and maybe have enough weight to qualify for a trophy in their age division. The young men and women were also fishing to increase their total weight for the year and to best the club’s biggest largemouth and smallmouth weight.

Director Richard Laxson said the weather was great for the Saturday tournament: “ The weather was perfect. Cooler temperatures and very little wind. A good crowd at the weigh-in and picnic as well. The club member’s boat captain had to look a little for places to fish since there were four tournaments launching from McFarland the Saturday we fished.”
